Happy New Year!

I don't know about you, but 2010 already feels better than 2009. To make up for the admittedly lackluster "party" we had last new year's, we got back to going all-out this year. It was fantastic. 83 people made the trip, some even coming from NYC, New Hampshire, and Rochester, NY! There was singing, and there was laughter, and there was great punch, and there was a kids' countdown, and there were great goodies and treats, many from Becca's hands and many from the guests. Launching this party has become like giving birth for us; there is much preparation and "nesting", the night explodes into existence, it gets a little messy (although we only lost a cheap mirror and a kids' chair this year), we are delighted and exhausted at the end of it, and then the post-partum I mean post-party depression sets in. Everyone is gone, alas... But after the new year truly sets in, the planning begins. For the next one! Ha!
