Check out this brilliant depiction from xkcd, an internet comic written by Randall Munroe, whose fiancée has been diagnosed with breast cancer. A similar journey to ours, no doubt. And she is doing well too, yay!

But this comic really lays out what it is like. You have all these cares and worries and reasons for getting hot and bothered, and then, quite suddenly it all just stops and is overtaken by the big C. My graph would have a section for kids, too, but this just really rings true. You wanna know what it is like? There's the graph.
