Couldn't make it to our plastic surgeon's office last week, so we went today. We are happy to report that everything looks great. Fluid retention is minimal to non-existant. The DIEP portion of Becca's reconstruction is now considered complete. She now will just heal some more during the summer before a mid-September 2-3 hour day surgery. This will nip and tuck and reduce and enlarge in all the necessary places.
We scheduled the surgery today but were told we could get bumped if a breast cancer patient needs the time. We said fine and then realized, holy crap, we are no longer the bumper. We're the bumped! How awesome is that?! So yeah, bump us all over the place, Dr. L. And you go give that new patient the same fantastic care we got when we needed it most.
