more amazing care
We met the plastics doctor today, and once again we feel so lucky to be in such good hands. His command of not only all the latest procedures but also where they are done the most and how successful they are was impressive -- tons of statistics on the tip of his tongue. The general gist was that we are in a great place for reconstructive surgery and consequently over 90% of Beth Israel breast cancer surgery patients opt for some form of reconstruction. I'll let Becca fill you in on more details of the appointment if she so chooses, but suffice it to say we spent over an hour with the doctor until every last one of our questions was answered. This was also the most hopeful of all the appointments we have had so far, because all of this planning is predicated on the fact that we have BEATEN the cancer. I like the sound of that!
