First, Happy Birthday Diana. My dear sister would have been 38 today. She'd probably also have a lot to say about all this, since she was headed for a MD/Homeopathic degree when she was taken far too soon 8 years ago. For more on Di see her memorial site at http://diana.j0hnk0r.net (replace the zeroes with o's).
Tomorrow a different drug cocktail begins, and to continue the war analogy, we have mainly been in the "shock and awe" phase until now. Adriamycin & Cytoxan were the heavy-duty cancer cell killers. They don't discriminate. Anything that grows fast (like, ahem, HAIR) gets it. But now we get a little more exacting. We did some spying before we started, and found that we can find these cells specifically because of their her-2/neu receptors. So in go the special forces snipers in the form of Herceptin, which seeks these receptors out, binds to them, and brings the cell down. And Taxol for ground support. You get the idea.
So Becca's ready. Here we go. Think precision-guided-missile thoughts, or ninja assassins, or if the whole war/killing thing is not your bag how about Cinderella's birds picking the lentils from the ashes or Harry on his firebolt yanking a snitch out of the air in the middle of a storm or something.
