Well we had been given fair warning that a small percentage of patients receiving Zometa experienced flu-like body aches during the first 48 hours on the drug. A small percentage. But the fine print happens to say that if your husband is going down to Hartford for the day, it's pretty much 100% chance. Funny how it works that way.
Ugh. This one really knocked Becca flat, and when a fever developed as well we started to think it might be something else. Against better judgement, Becca went online and the Internet actually helped this time. Listed as an additional Zometa side effect was - you guessed it - fever.
So that was Thursday. She is slightly better today, though not quite out of bed yet. Many thanks to all the people who helped out this week and especially these past two days while Daddy was down at finalsite U. Cathleen and Mark, Shawn, Carolyn, Karen, JoAnn, and Dad all helped out with the driving and for some reason Mom "signed up" to bring us dinner tonight, as if the 6 billion meals she has already served me/us for the past 40 years has not been enough. :-) I guess she was just feeling a little left out. So, um, thanks, er, Mom! The blond brownies were the best, too.
