graba graba

Well sorry to pummel you with posts, but this one'll be short. I would be remiss if I did not thank Tara (Graba to us) for buzzing over here from Wellesley Wednesday afternoon to bestow a beef & barley stew, some homemade sourdough (from Kevin) and a peck of cupcakes. She is a great buddy from college and, being local, was the doctor we had on the inside looking out for us as we entered The System last fall. All our new docs were grapevine-vetted by Graba and as you well know, we have had nothing but praise for our team.

Oh and one last note on hyper-mommy. There have been some questions as to why we're dialing down the benadryl if it causes Becca to feel like she's on speed. Basically the benadryl (sleepy...) and decadron (wired!) are all about managing allergic reactions to the taxol. I think the decadron is as low as it can go but they have more leeway with the benedryl, which they can adjust down according to how Becca's last week went. If she mentions being knocked flat for a day, then they try a lower dose. We watch closely for allergic-type reactions, but they pretty much know how her body deals with the taxol now since we're 6 weeks in.
