no bad juju

We are hesitant to report that Becca had a good and normal weekend, because the last time we did that (see Jan. 5) we were knocked upside the head with a raging infection the very next day.

But we must tell it like it is. Becca was well enough on Friday to actually work for most of the day, and this weekend she and I managed the myriad kid sporting events and otherwise just like we always do. Very refreshing, especially given the fact that we know she's definitely going back under the drugs Wednesday.

So Sammy must make another appearance here. (I'm beginning to think we should just give him a login and he can have at it.) Last week he finished "Story Club" in his after-school program, and the story that came home is just to rich for words. We loved it so much I scanned it in and you can hop over to me.com to see it if you like. There is no doubt he received a great deal of help with the story line (and absence of bathroom language), but those are definitely his drawings and his writing and his ideas for the story.

  1. That is a beautiful story. Kids are so honest. Am tracking your family's SUCCESS against stupid cancer. Know that I am cheering for you all. -- Gretchen (Almy) McNeely

  2. Becca & John, that is quite a writer/artist you are raising. We are so sorry that we are so far away and can't be of help on a daily basis, but we are praying for you and following the blog. Sandi & Charlie Kreplin

Sammy's story is absolute GOLD. Truly, I laughed until I cried. And those pictures. Awesome.
