rest shamelessly.

We have had many bits of advice thrown our way, especially from the breast cancer support community which seem to have just sprung up around us so suddenly. One bit which Becca has been heeding recently is to "rest shamelessly". If you feel tired at all there is no sense trying to stick it out and stay up - with chemo your body is telling you that it needs to fight an internal battle and it would just as soon not keep itself upright at the same time.

So maybe it was the ER adventure, or maybe a new stage of the chemo, or maybe both. Becca was out of bed yesterday for about twenty minutes around noon and then from 6pm to 11pm, but that was it. Today is looking like the same, and we had to cancel the first in what I'm sure will be a long line of missed get-togethers, a baby shower for my sister Allison (due Feb 24!). We'll see. Maybe next week will be better. The good news is she is not feeling any pain and has had no nausea at all, even though anti-nausea drugs are standing by to be taken if the need arises. When she gets up, she eats, and sometimes a lot so that is good too.

This would be so much harder without you.
